| Sigh. |
Ella has been keeping us on our toes. She does NOT like the word no. Unfortunately, she hears it a lot. She also hears "on your bum!" quite a bit which is why she's constantly running around on the furniture yelling, "BUM!" She thinks it's funny. We do not.
She's beginning to speak real words as opposed to the gibberish to which we've become accustomed. I feel like Brady was speaking complete sentences at this point, so then I feel like she's really behind, but it's not fair to compare them. Plus, I'm sure that once she starts blabbering, I'm going to wish for the days of gibberish. She's ALWAYS chatting, mostly with the television when Bob the Builder comes on. She screams BOB! with a mid-western accent and goes bananas every time she hears the theme song. My favorite, though, is when she sees a bird and screeches, "T'EET!" She means "tweet," but when we were in Walmart and she spotted a stray bird flying in the rafters and yelled "TEAT" at the top of her lungs, I about lost it!
We bit the bullet and got Ella's hair trimmed. It took approximately .3 seconds, cost $15, and surprisingly made a real difference! It looks thicker since having the fuzzy ends taken off. This picture was taken before because afterwards, Miss Thang had had enough and refused to sit still any longer.
My college roommate Jess and her baby Grant visited with us last week. It's been forever since we had seen Mr. Grant, and it was great to catch up. I got 2 of the 3 kids to pose with me...
Know where the third was?
Posing by herself because God forbid the diva has to share the spotlight.
Earlier this week, I got the exciting news that my public blog, When Crazy Meets Exhaustion, was being "Freshly Pressed." Basically that means the editors at Word Press have been following my work and liked it enough to highlight it. The editor who contacted me told me to prepare myself for more followers after being "pressed," and she was right! I went from, like, 20 followers to almost 200 in less than 24-hours! I didn't even realize so many people wrote and/or followed blogs. I now have big dreams that I'll be so popular businesses will want to advertise on my page and I can eventually quit my day job and write professionally. Somethings tells me that I need more than 200 people to make it big. A girl can dream.
Speaking of work, I got a bonus and decided that I would actually spend some money on myself. It has been almost 5 years since I've actually shopped for new clothes that weren't maternity or post-baby. It was AWESOME. I was saddened to find my old stomping grounds, Ann Taylor, was gone, but I found a Loft store and did some serious damage. I grew a pair and bought my first skinny jeans. We'll see if I wear them in public...
That's about it from these parts. The kids haven't been sleeping well (there are at least twice nightly interruptions), so I've been beyond tired. I'm thinking the only thing that would make those nighttime wakings worth it is an infant, but Zach isn't on board. Yet.
And some days, I'm not even sure I am. Note to self: hide the markers.
